J.I.D Jacket

J.I.D is a monster artist who puts the utmost care into his craft. This jacket was tailored around his third album “The Forever Story,” where J.I.D put an emphasize on showing his vocals and incorporating soul as a focus. “Can’t Make You Change” is the tenth song on the album and is rooted at the heart of the album, and featuring the talented Ari Lennox, the song holds a rhythmic structure that I’m sure is what it feels like to float through the clouds.

The design language is purposely open and airy to mimmic the free nature of the music and the sensation that the song carries. The character is a reference to a character used in the music video of a song on the sister album of “The Forever Story” titled “EdEddnEddy” named after the CN Series. Shortly after this song became massive, J.I.D started wearing a chain with said character. In this jacket the staples of the design of that character are used with stylistic choices to fit the energy and growth of the artist.
